His training background includes Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (both Gi and No-Gi), Professional Mixed Martial Arts Fighting, Scholastic Wrestling, Muay Thai style and Traditional Boxing. He has competed in and won Dozens of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments as well as many Professional Mixed Martial Arts Fights. He is an IBJJF World and 2X Pans (Both GI and NOGI) Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Champion. Ronnie is also a Royce Gracie certified “G.R.A.C.I.E.” Law Enforcement Jiu-Jitsu instructor.

Lewis began training Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2005 while away in college.
He went on to become a successful Mixed Martial Arts fighter. Once moving to Delaware, he joined Delaware Self-Defense academy in 2016 and has been an integral part of its growth and success. Jon’s wife Alicia and two children Mason and Ellie also train Jiu-Jitsu here at the academy.
Rick ReynoldsGracie Brazilian Blue Belt (Youth Jiu-Jitsu Instructor)
Rick is a youth instructor in Middletown. He’s been active in martial arts for many years, and started with Delaware Self Defense Academy in 2014 in the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and Judo programs.
Rick lives in Odessa with his wife Lisa, and two children, Christian and Savannah. He deeply enjoys the opportunity to coach youth classes, making a positive difference in their Jiu-Jitsu and character development, especially with his son Christian assisting.
Steve Bednarik Gracie Brazilian Purple Belt (Youth Jiu-Jitsu Instructor)
Additionally, Jeremy has served 17 years as an Officer in the United States Navy and currently resides and trains in Middletown, Delaware. Both of Jeremy’s children Brody and Ava also train Jiu-Jitsu at the academy.
Wendy Rios Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belt (Desk / Enrollment Staff)
Wendy began training Jiu-Jitsu in 2015 after watching and being inspired by her daughter Taylor began training in 2014.
